Back to Donegal - Bob Dalsemer
Bob Dalsemer calls this singing square, with music provided by Notorious (Eden MacAdam Somer on fiddle, Larry Unger on guitar). Recorded January 18, 2013, at the Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend, Durham, NH. The dance was created by Maine caller and choreographer Ron Linnell, using the Irish folk song "Dear Old Donegal" made popular by Bing Crosby.
The dance figure includes ladies chain and right and left through along the line and across the set, reminiscent of The Route (aka The Rout), an earlier traditional dance, and the break figure incorporates a triple allemande and Alamo style waves around the circle; the break is based on a figure by Rex Hudson of Browley, CA. This video clip includes some of the caller's walkthrough of the figure and the figure.
