A Night at Sunny Hills
Creator: Carroll White (1951)
Album cover, inside text, and a related record label. This recording, from 1951, illustrates what was considered appropriate material for experienced square dancers at that time in southern California, one of the hotbeds of interest in square dance.
Larry Marchese adds, based on information from Sets in Order (August 1953, p. 24): "This venue was known as the Sunny Hills Square Dance Barn by 1953. Jack Barbour’s California Clippers provided the music and the restaurant inside was called T bar B Chuck Wagon. They hired lots of name callers."
