For this 1949 recording,on the Mastertone label, Carolina Cotton (aka the Yodeling Blonde Bombshell) was joined by Fenton "Jonesy" Jones. The release was timely, as the late 1940s saw the dramatic upsurge in interest in square dancing. In the post-WWII era, Lloyd Shaw's summer classes attracted large numbers of enthusiastic people who returned home to start clubs around the nation.

Born Helen Hagstrom in 1925 in northeast Arkansas, Carolina Cotton went on to have an illustrious career, performing as a vocalist with the Spade Cooley Orchestra, the Sons of the Pioneers, Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, and many more. In addition, she appeared regularly on country music radio shows and in films. In 2001, she was inducted into the Western Music Association's Hall of Fame.
