Square Dance collection at University of Denver
The archives at the University of Denver (DU) hold a vast collection of square dance material. DU is the repository for two vast archives, those of the Lloyd Shaw Foundation and the personal collection of Bob Osgood, the founder of Sets in Order magazine. From these two related streams, DU's collection leans heavily toward traditional western squares, Lloyd Shaw and his influence, and the early development of what became modern square dance.
Many of the items in the DU collection have yet to be digitized, but the Denver archivists have been helpful in locating materials.
The New Hampshire Library of Traditional Music & Dance, located at University of New Hampshire, draws on the personal collections of Ralph Page, Ted Sannella, and many others. It has an equally large collection of items focused on traditional New England squares and other related Northeastern styles of music and dance. UNH also has a large (20,000+) collection of modern square recordings donated by the Square Dance Foundation of New England,
