Northern Junket
In a labor of love, Ralph Page single-handedly published 165 issues of this journal from 1949 through 1984. The University of New Hampshire's Library of Traditional Music and Dance has digitized and made available a complete set of these magazines, along with biographical information about Page. The library is also the repository for an extensive manuscript collection as well as electronic versions of the syllabi from the annual Ralph Page Dance Legacy Weekend.
Northern Junket is also available online through UNH, though the URL has changed numerous times over the years as the University changes its computer platform. As of October 2021, you can use this link for the magazine, and this link for the index.
Colin Hume has examined every issue of Northern Junket and has created a website with all the square dances, more than 200 of them. Colin provides links to the original instructions as well as his interpretations of how the dance can be called. Dances can be searched by volume or by title.
Similarly, Chris Page created a website in which he shares his own favorite parts of the magazine, including a section titled "The favorites of my favorites." Chris focuses less on the actual dances published in the magazine and instead provides links to articles about dance history (separated into different periods), club squares (a development that RP Did Not Like), calling advice, satire, and miscellaneous.
David Millstone, creater of the Square Dance History Project, especially recommends Ralph Page's account of a kitchen junket, which starts in the very first issue of Northern Junket and continues for three additional issues.
