Eight to the Center - Les Gotcher, 1954
Creator: Les Gotcher (October, 1954)
This live recording comes from a Les Gotcher Square Dance Institute. You'll note that Gotcher starts the music while squares are still forming up; he calls out that another couples is needed in the middle, and a few seconds launches into his calls. It's a great illustration of how this style of calling has no correlation to the musical phrase.
Les Gotcher is represented by many items in the SDHP collection.
