1976 NSDC - history pageant
The National Square Dance Convention in 1976, the US Bicentennial year, was the largest in the history of that event. Part of that event was a historical pageant coordinated by Dorothy Stott Shaw, the widow of Lloyd "Pappy" Shaw. The pageant illustrates the varying styles of dance over two centuries. Cal and Judy Campbell acted as the MCs of the event.
The SDHP collection includes other footage of this event; in some cases, viewers will note duplication. We are including numerous versions to present as complete a picture as possible of the event.
