This dance sequence is an excerpt from the film "Southern Highlanders," 1947, created as part of Form Motor Company's "America at Home" series. The film was directed by Lawrence Madison. The full 15-minute film, looking at people living in the region around the Great Smoky Mountains, both North Carolina and Tennessee, is part of the Prelinger Archives collection and can be viewed here: https://archive.org/details/0103_Southern_Highlanders_S00325_15_28_11_00

The dance footage was recorded at the John C. Campbell Folk School in Brasstown, NC.
