Quadrilles in Harlem - 1946
Creator: Rod LaFarge (Rosin the Bow, Vol. 2 #3, March 1946)
Rod LaFarge was a caller, publisher, and dance historian, interested in all manner of dances. In this account, he describes visiting Harlem on several occasions-- LaFarge lived in New Jersey--to observe dancers at the Union Quadrille Club and the Eureka Quadrille Club. He describes "one interesting figure" he had never seen before, and also provides detailed instructions for The Bahama Quadrille.
