African-American quadrille, 1914 (#2)
(1914)
This comes from the Prelinger Archives and the footage appears to be from the same reel as another item in our collection. The first part of the footage shows common quadrille figures: opposite couples right and left through, ladies chain, swing corner, go back to partner, grand right and left, meet partner and swing. Midway through the footage changes to a couple dancing enthusiastically, perhaps a version of the Texas Tommy, an early form of swing dance.
