Chime Bells - Tod Whittemore
Tod Whittemore calling at his dance series at the VFW, Cambridge, MA, December, 1985. The first half of the footage shows dancers, and then the camera is turned toward the caller. Tod Whittemore is well-known for his yodeling squares; the SDHP contains many examples of Tod at the caller's mic.
The choreography for this dance comes from a shortened version of Ted Sannella's Do-Si-Do and Face the Sides. You can hear Ted calling that modified version here. The SDHP website includes numerous examples of Ted's dance, still popular more than 60 years after its composition.
Musicians: New England Tradition (Bob McQuillen, piano; April Limber, fiddle; Pete Colby, banjo)
Videotaped by Ernie Spence (dancer wearing red shirt)
