Hambo
Creator: Ernie Spence (June 12, 1986)
Traditional square and contra dance series often include a variety of couple dances as part of their program. Depending on location and time, dancers might enjoy waltz, polka, or schottische, among others, in addition to the primary dance forms in the evening. Here, it's a hambo. a traditional Swedish turning dance. Recorded at Tod Whittemore's contra dance series at the VFW, Cambridge, MA.
There are many examples of couple dances included in the SDHP collection. Click on this link to go to a listing.
